Thank you for coming to NL Nature – the site showcasing Newfoundland and Labrador’s Natural History as observed by citizens and visitors to our magnificent province.
NL Nature is a website dedicated to developing an online atlas of wildlife, birds and plants in Newfoundland and Labrador. The site relies on observations shared by members of the public. Any resident of, or visitor to Newfoundland and Labrador who has an interesting sighting to share may upload information.
The site contains detailed information on the natural history of a number of species of current interest on the island of Newfoundland. Follow links on the left to learn more about these species. Future updates to the site will include information on other species.
Data generated by visitors to this site will support university research (see “What is NL Nature?”). We appreciate if users take the time to register (it takes less than 5 minutes to set up your own account!), however, it is possible to upload an observation without registering (follow the “Map Your Sightings”).
