Now we count each time someone views an observation. This allows us to determine the ratio of visitors vs. replies and comments, example is here:

New feature of the NL Nature forum - you can now edit your own posts as long as there are no replies to that post.

Another feature - you can now see the post you are replying to to the right of the textarea...

A new section of Account Settings has been added to your account menu.

Currently the only option is to change your privacy settings (email notification level).

You can choose from one of the following:

  • Notify me when someone replies to my observations or posts
  • Notify me when someone comments on my observations only
  • Allow only NL Nature administrators to contact me
  • I do not wish to be sent any emails

We still don't have the ability to send emails from the forum or the notification page. We started building that functionality with privacy settings - to make sure that once the feature is built, it will be possible for users to adjust level of notification to the one they feel comfortable with.

Small changes have been made to improve costemics of the website:

  • converting dates to a human readeable form
  • checking for typo errors
  • cross linking various pages that are related
  • fixing comments form (it used to be possible to post a duplicate comment just by double clicking on the post button)

  • The images of the observation are now located underneath the map
  • The dates of posting and observation have been reformatted for better readability
  • At the top of the page there are links added to the main user profile page

The aesthetics of the http://www.nlnature.com/nature-activists.aspx page was improved, but more work needs to be done on that page
