My name is Roman Lukyanenko, I am a student at Memorial University. I am working on the technical development of the NL Nature project, and I am very passionate about enviroment and wildlife.

For a long time advances in technology caused destruction of enviroment as a side effect. I believe we have reached such technological level that we can start reversing that trend, and start using technology for conservation and rebuilding of wildlife habitats.

I am hopful that NL Nature with its use of intelligent mapping, satellite imagery and citizen scientist involvement will facilitate new ways of collecting and analysing ecological data, that are more accurate, up-to-date and cost effective...

It's a pity the site doesn't work.  I've updated my personal data twice and nothing has happened.

I've tried to post some butterfly observations and go nowhere.  When you've finnished putting in data there should be somewhere to click to record it.  No wonder there is so little use of the site.

And there seems to be no way to edit errors in postings!

Howard,

Thank you for bringing up some of the issues that this project faces. I can say, this website is still quite young, but that would be a poor excuse, but I am hopefull we can address some of your concerns.

1. Editing posts. I believe you should be able to edit posts that do not have any replies.

2. As far as recording observations, there is a large green button at the bottom of the observations page that says "Record Signting," could you try again

3. If the species is not included in the list, please record it under "Other" - "Unknown - other"

Again,

THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMENTS!
