Two young moose bucks came through the garden. As usual, pictures through the window are blurry! But I'll attach one anyway.
Moose are extremely common here and this is not the first sighting this summer. They are saucy and unafraid of humans, and often will not run away if you shout or try to chase them. It makes for an awkward situation, since the moose tend to be very large. They often stop by my garden to devour what is left of apple trees or oak trees or anything that makes a big bite for lunch. At one time they would run at the sight of a camera, but I guess through extensive human contact and browsing gardens in the area, they've learned that cameras are not weapons, and that people near their homes don't shoot guns, even with moose in the garden.
