Sighting Info

Observed: June 29, 2014 @ 2:30 AM
Posted on: July 5, 2014 @ 1:55 AM (diff: 6 days)
Comments:
petrels were continuing to fly in front of the boat all night, probably dozens. they would be picking up something from the surface of the water, maybe plankton or other small fish drawn to the surface by the powerful lights. sometimes one would land on board. this one landed and stayed all night on the bow. it was difficult to get it to stay still long enough to photograph. when daylight came it had flown away.
