it is slightly smaller than a herring gull. it has a black band on the bill. has a lot more black on the wing tips. Ring billed gull??, Herring gull??

Ring-billed gull has yellowish legs, not pink. I think yours is a juvenile herring gull.

thanks, Lessa, you're right. After looking in Petersen birds, I saw the legs was a giveaway. Appreciate your correction. Sam
